Photography is so readily associated with resemblance and copy, however the process of photography in this instance (photograms) has in fact distorted its referent, and an image without subject matter has been created. By creating ‘non-representational’ photographs I hope to produce images detached from the real world, though I do not want this detachment to separate the viewer from image, but to allow a deeper engagement. I want viewers to liberate the expanse of their imagination and to simply reflect and embrace  the pure colour and shapes presented, functioning to correspond to an inner state.
